That third hour is something I've been trying to take the time to do for months, and it turned out about as good as I had imagined. I was considering just butting out entirely and letting the music play out unannounced, but then I thought better of it and decided to be something of a counterpoint to the utter bleakness and depth of the music- plus, I wanted to give credit to those few doing the damage. Maurice de Jong is absolute master of dark, merciless music, but his range is truly displayed with Cloak of Altering. That said, I'm having a hard time picking which of his bands is my favorite.
Next week should be a little more typical, I try to do something special with these recorded shows so that they're at least something memorable.

$50- DJ for a week, you collaberate with me on one week's show. We have to follow the FCC regulations regarding content, and there are some things I won't play (like Dethklok, any metalcore/power metal or anything else that I just cannot stand) but it should be a good time all the same.
$100- Day Sponsorship... which for this show, means an All Night Extreme Metal Marathon. You (and maybe some friends if you all chip in) sit down with me and plan an all nighter of the sickest music we can think of!

Maybe it's time to come back.
It's been over a year since I documented my playlists for listeners and other interested parties to use as an additional guidepost toward new experiences in the enjoyment of extreme metal music.
I will also use this to do some reflecting on the process of crafting the show, events that are occurring at KMSU, notices on when shows will be recorded and other relevant information.
I'm grateful that even after all the things in my life that have been in flux since I began blasting wrath and bile at the skies in southern Minnesota, I still have this platform to work from. I've never claimed to be perfect as a host or scholar of music, but I have grown with every year and I sincerely hope that this pursuit of mine is still relevant and valuable to those who can appreciate the power that something as simultaneously simple to evoke and nearly impossible to completely deconstruct as music such as this.
