Sufficed to say, my summer was a little insane. I pretty much spent all of May looking for a new apartment, found something right at the end of that month, then spent the next June and July running stuff back and forth. No download this week, didn't get to the back studio in time before the show. Kinda got the blahs, forgot a couple records. For some reason I keep forgetting to bring my Insect Warfare disc- this is the second time I've had to back off from playing them because I didn't have it on me. Next week, dammit.

The other record I forgot was the new Darkthrone, which I personally don't care for all that much. I think the territory they're heading in is a tad too far from black metal for me to care anymore, and I'm far from orthodox in my extreme metal tastes. Due to general incompetence issues and dissatisfaction on my part, this week's show will not be put up for public consumption. This is due to some combination of the following factors:

-The death of Type O Negative frontman/bassist Peter Steele

-Ignorant motherfuckers calling my show requesting sellout bullshit like Trivium/assorted metalcore

-Random people showing up in the studio while I'm on the air, going into the booth I'm recording in, and gesticulating at the sound board in a manner that suggests mischief

-Me misplacing my copy of "Desolation" by Valhom and not being aware of this predicament until five minutes before airtime

-Me forgetting to burn a copy of the new Kalmah album, see above

So the show was kind of damaged- at one point I had to, while on the air, tell people to get the hell away from the sound board in the other booth. I ended up scrapping a half hour of material for various reasons, and it probably all came out sounding ok to the listeners, but I just hate nights like this.

Tonight I learned the value of not only having all the bands picked out in advance, but to have the order figured out as well. Tonight was a little difficult- I awoke from my early-evening nap to find that my sinuses were burning and that my stomach had decided to actively hate me. After some deliberation, I decided to go in and put on the show anyway because I was still excited about the program lineup.

I think it paid off, even though I probably sound like crap, there's a good flow of brutality in much of the first hour. The selections for the second hour incorporate two new bands to the program- Mystical Fullmoon and Imperium Dekadenz, which I imagine I will be using more of in the future.

I figured I'd be nice and divide this up into hour-long segments so it wouldn't be too long to download or sit through. If people are interested in shorter segments being made available, I'm willing to do that instead.

It looks like I'm not going to get the time to record a new show for Valentine's Day, unless I get a wild hair up my butt and come in on Friday for just that purpose.
